American Medical Writers Association

New England Chapter

The New England Chapter of the American Medical Writers Association (AMWA) provides opportunities to advance your career and connect with a community of welcoming and talented professionals—whether you’re a seasoned or an aspiring medical communicator.

WHO WE ARE

The AMWA New England Chapter is a regional network of individually and professionally diverse medical communicators including writers, editors, and translators, among others. Our 350 members are primarily based in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. Some of us work as freelancers and others as full-time employees—for research institutions and academia, hospitals, medical education companies, publications, biopharmaceutical and device companies, and health and government agencies. Some write for scientists, physicians, or the FDA, while others communicate with patients, the press, or the general public.

Are you considering a career in medical writing? We welcome you as well!

DO

We hold in-person and virtual events including speaker presentations, networking opportunities, book and movie clubs, and other social and professional development activities.
